This game is great for Level 2 and up. It is easily modifiable, and sailors are so focused on the game that they don’t even realize that they are learning heaps.
Rules of the Game:
- Coach starts game with each team on their side by throwing the ball into the centre and blowing whistle, teams must try to obtain possession
- Sailors must pass the ball 3 consecutive times before they can sail the ball through the other team’s goal
- When passing the ball, teammates must be at least one boatlength away from each other
- The ball is fair game in the air or in the water, you may not take the ball out of someone else’s boat
- All right of way rules apply, as do penalties
- Once one team has scored, they must pass the ball to the other team, and play resumes
