This game is great because it can be modified from beginner to advanced quite easily. One sailor in the box has a water gun. When the coach blows the whistle, sailors must sail through the box to the other side. If they get hit with the water gun, they do a 360. Take turns who is in the centre.
Teaching points:
- Head out of the boat
- Boat control
- Starts
- Penalty turns
Modifications:
- Instead of a 360, kids could hold position in irons for a period of time, ie 5s for beginner, 1 min for advanced
- Change the course to reaching for beginners
- Make it elimination if they get hit with water, then last man standing wins and is the next King of the Box
- Add penalty for leaving the box
