Great start drill for both Green Fleet and seasoned racers alike. You set a normal start sequence, and then at 1 minute to go, you can sound the starting horn at any time you want. This forces sailors to be ready to start the race at any moment, which encourages them to hold their position on the line rather than reaching back and forth.
Teaching Points:
- Holding position on the line

- Ready position for acceleration
Modifications:
- Make it 30s instead of 1min
- Add a box start to help them out
